Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, during a meeting with his Russian counterpart Mikhail Mishustin in Yekaterinburg, Russia, stated that he hopes to discuss the problematic issues accumulated in bilateral relations and find ways to resolve them.

According to the Armenian premier, this meeting is a good opportunity to discuss in detail the entire scope of the Armenian-Russian agenda and, as he put it, “to clarify the timing.”

“In recent times, some problematic issues have emerged, and I hope that we will discuss and resolve them. Both before and after the [parliamentary] elections [in Armenia on June 7], we [i.e. Armenia] are determined to continue developing our relations with the Russian Federation. We are also interested in Armenia’s further participation in the Eurasian Economic Union [(EAEU)] and in ensuring that the mechanisms provided for by the EAEU treaty operate in a normal mode. I believe this is in the interests of the further development of the union,” Pashinyan said.

He emphasized that Armenia maintains a constructive attitude and is ready to substantively discuss all existing issues and nuances of bilateral cooperation.

“I hope that as a result of today’s negotiations, we will succeed in resolving specific issues,” the Armenian prime minister noted.
