Chinese President Xi Jinping ordered stronger measures to counter natural disasters in a number of regions across the country. This was reported by China Central Television.

As specified, the Chinese leader pointed to the need to prevent and promptly eliminate the negative consequences of flooding. He demanded that maximum efforts be made to carry out rescue operations, provide medical assistance to the victims, and evacuate the population from dangerous areas.

Heavy rains are falling in many regions of China, causing floods and other natural disasters. Casualties and injuries have been reported, as well as damage to infrastructure facilities.
