European officials do not expect U.S. President Donald Trump to decide to significantly increase pressure on Russia through new sanctions or military aid to Kyiv. Bloomberg reported this, citing sources.

According to two of the agency’s sources, there are no guarantees that a meeting between Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky in Ankara during the NATO summit will go well. The sources attributed their forecast to the American leader’s “volatility.”

Earlier, Trump said that, in his opinion, both Moscow and Kyiv are inclined toward resolving the conflict in Ukraine. He noted that this issue would be discussed at the NATO summit, which will take place on July 7–8 in Turkey.
