After Russia imposed restrictions on the supply of Armenian brandy, Russian local alcoholic beverage companies were unable to rebuild their supply chains to ensure the bottling of brandy spirits, said the president of the Alcopro Guild, Andrey Moskovsky, Kommersant reports.

A significant part of the brandy produced in Russia is made on the basis of brandy spirits imported from Armenia. But after the supply restrictions, Russian companies were unable to quickly find equivalent raw materials, which led to a sharp reduction in brandy production in Russia in June.

According to Moskovsky, it was extremely difficult for Russian producers to rebuild logistics and production chains in just a month and a half. Against this background, the output of finished brandy has significantly decreased in Russia.

In June, brandy production in Russia decreased by 26.67 percent, and in the first half of the year, by 6.6 percent.
