Iran will welcome the visit of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to the Islamic Republic, where the parties will be able to sign a document that will open a window of new opportunities for the further development of relations in various domains, including political, economic, as well as security and defense. Iranian ambassador to Armenia, Khalil Shirgholami, announced this at a press conference Wednesday.

The Iranian diplomat said that Tehran is seriously and resolutely committed to the institutionalization of Armenian-Iranian strategic partnership, and made reference to the respective statements made at various levels.

The Iranian envoy to Armenia recalled that during a recent meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Tehran, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian had pointed to the importance of achieving results in this regard as soon as possible.

"Iran is consistently and resolutely working towards signing a document on comprehensive partnership with Armenia. The document is in the phase of study and drafting. We hope to complete this phase and move on to the signing phase as soon as possible," Shirgholami said.
