Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan on Friday received Fabrizio Zarcone, the World Bank Country Manager for Armenia.

During the meeting, the progress of the Tourism and Regional Infrastructure Project (TRIP) was discussed, Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the Ministry of Economy of Armenia.

The parties emphasized the role of this initiative in the development of tourism and modernization of provincial infrastructure in Armenia, and agreed to continue close cooperation to ensure the effective and timely implementation of the respective planned activities in the country.

TRIP envisages an investment of 120 million euros for the development of tourism clusters in Armenia’s Goris, Areni, Jermuk, Yeghegis, Dvin, Gyumri, and Dilijan settlements. The project aims to promote the development of Armenia's wine, spa, adventure, cultural, educational, and ecotourism, increasing the country's tourist appeal and the competitiveness of its provinces.
