Iran has said it will retaliate if Israel attacks its infrastructure, Iranian state media report.

The warning was issued by Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran. According to him, in the event of such attacks, "Israel will not remain unanswered."

The statement came amid growing tensions in relations between Iran, the US, and Israel following the recent strikes.

At the same time, diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions are ongoing. Qatar is acting as a mediator between Washington and Tehran, seeking to prevent further escalation of tension and maintain channels of communication between the parties, The New York Times reports.
