Iran has not stopped preparing to defend its territory and is ready to shift to full-scale defense if the United States violates the agreements reached. This was stated by Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

"During the talks, I made it clear to the U.S. vice president that we have absolutely no trust in the Americans. In my view, only those who are ready for war can negotiate with the United States. Therefore, we have never stopped preparing to defend our country," Ghalibaf said.

His statement was published on a Telegram channel following a meeting with Ahmad Muzani, chairman of Indonesia’s People’s Consultative Congress.

According to the speaker of the Iranian parliament, if Washington violates the agreements, Tehran is ready to "firmly stand against" the United States and seek the protection of the rights of the Iranian people.

Ghalibaf noted that ending the war is a "priority for all countries," but stressed that the conflict, in his words, "will never end with Iran’s capitulation."

Earlier it was reported that overnight into Wednesday, the U.S. armed forces carried out a series of strikes on Iranian territory. U.S. Central Command said the operation was a response to Iran’s actions against commercial vessels in the area of the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian military officials reported retaliatory strikes on U.S. bases in Bahrain and Kuwait, while the country’s authorities accused Washington of violating the memorandum on the cessation of hostilities.

On Thursday, U.S. President Donald Trump said he did not know whether the situation around Iran would lead to the return of a full-scale conflict, but noted that the United States has "many ways to win."
