Ukraine’s ambassador to the United States, Olha Stefanishyna, has decided to end her diplomatic service due to personal circumstances, Interfax-Ukraine reports, citing an informed source.
According to the agency’s source, Stefanishyna submitted her request to end her service as early as last week. The source noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is satisfied with her work as ambassador.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko had announced her resignation. Verkhovna Rada deputy Yaroslav Zhelezniak said that she would likely be appointed Ukraine’s new ambassador to the United States.
Olha Stefanishyna was appointed ambassador to Washington in August 2025. Before that, she served as deputy prime minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration and as Ukraine’s justice minister, and was also a member of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
