The UK authorities announced the imposition of new sanctions against employees of the military-analytical project Rybar, as well as 14 Russian citizens whom London links to the activities of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) and accuses of involvement in cyber operations against the United Kingdom.

According to published documents of the British government, ten managers and employees of the Rybar project were placed under restrictions. According to the British authorities, they are allegedly involved in actions that “undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty, or independence of Ukraine.”

In addition, sanctions were imposed on 14 Russians whom the United Kingdom considers to be connected to the GRU and responsible for alleged cyberattacks against the country.

The restrictive measures provide for asset freezes, bans on entry into the United Kingdom, restrictions on the provision of trust and internet services, as well as bans on holding managerial positions.

Earlier, in the autumn of 2025, London had already imposed sanctions on the Rybar project itself and its head, Mikhail Zvinchuk.

The military-analytical center Rybar and the Telegram channel of the same name cover, among other things, the course of the military operation in Ukraine. In 2024, the U.S. State Department accused the project of interfering in American elections and announced a reward of up to $10 million for information that would help establish the identities or whereabouts of persons connected to it.
