In the coming years, Poland plans to allocate another approximately $150 billion to strengthen its defense capabilities. This was stated on RMF FM radio by the country's Deputy Minister of National Defence, Cezary Tomczyk.

According to him, these funds will be allocated in addition to the $65 billion already spent, which Warsaw invested in purchasing American weapons and developing military infrastructure. Tomczyk noted that Poland intends to become NATO's largest service center in Europe and is holding talks with the United States on the joint production of missiles for Patriot systems.

The deputy minister also said that the Polish authorities had sent Washington an official proposal to establish a permanent American military base on the country's territory. According to him, political approval has already been obtained, and the Greater Poland and Lower Silesian voivodeships are being considered as possible locations, as they have the necessary infrastructure to host NATO forces. A final decision is expected to be made in the coming weeks.

Speaking about the possible transfer of Polish MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine, the deputy minister said that Poland is ready to transfer the aircraft “as early as tomorrow” in exchange for Ukrainian drone technologies. At the same time, he noted that the parties have not yet agreed on the terms for modernizing the equipment being transferred.

According to him, Poland also expects to expand cooperation with the United States in the future by establishing joint production of missiles for Patriot, Hellfire, and HIMARS systems.
