Yemen's Ansar Allah movement (the Houthis) announced the end of the ceasefire with Saudi Arabia, accusing Riyadh of carrying out a strike on Sanaa International Airport. This was stated in a statement by the Foreign Ministry of the Houthi government, RIA Novosti reports.

Representatives of the movement said the attack brought the period of de-escalation to an end and effectively terminated the truce agreement. The Houthis placed responsibility for the incident and its possible consequences on Saudi Arabia.

For its part, Yemen's Defense Ministry said the strike on Sanaa airport was carried out by the country's armed forces to prevent an Iranian plane from landing. The ministry said the Houthis, who are backed by Iran, had restricted the operation of national aviation and were seeking the arrival of the Iranian airliner.

Before the attack, the authorities called for the urgent evacuation of the airport and warned citizens not to approach the air hub. The Defense Ministry stressed that the military was ready to stop any violations of the country's airspace, explaining its actions as necessary to protect state sovereignty.
