The Armenian Saint Garabet Church in the Uskudar district of Istanbul, Turkey has reopened after a long renovation.

Uskudar is a historical district on the Bosphorus in the Asian part of Istanbul, where about 50,000 Armenians lived at the beginning of the 20th century, Ermenihaber.am reports.

The reconsecration ceremony of the church was attended also by the Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople, Archbishop Sahak II Mashalian.

A few days ago, an unidentified person broke into the cemetery of the Saint Garabet Church and damaged six tombs. But 48 hours later, this criminal was found and arrested.
