Opposition Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) chairman and businessman Gagik Tsarukyan's lawyers will petition to international arbitration over the downtime of his companies, PAP member Elinar Vardanyan told Sputnik Armenia.
“At the moment, a group of lawyers is working. They will not be limited to Armenia’s judicial system alone, especially considering that our law enforcement system serves exclusively one person [i.e. PM Nikol Pashinyan]. And relevant lawsuits, appeals, and petitions will be sent to various international instances,” Vardanyan said.
According to her, what is happening in Armenia today is illegal, and it is difficult to fight against it in the country’s legal system, which has been distorted by the current authorities.
Vardanyan noted that inspections have been carried out in all the aforesaid enterprises for many years, but suddenly now some violations have been discovered, and this indicates a clear political context.
“There will also be petitions to international arbitrations, because the issue is not only the criminal prosecution of Gagik Tsarukyan, but also the infringement of his right to engage in entrepreneurial activity. And we will petition also to international instances to protect rights in this domain,” Vardanyan said.
