Leader of European People’s Party Wilfried Martens sent a congratulations letter to Armenian President, leader of the Republican Party of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.

In his letter Martens mentions that he is sorry for the tragic accident which occurred on May 4 during RPA’s rally.

“Despite that tragedy your party has registered a great victory during the elections. Moreover, the elections of May 6, 2012, in Armenia were fair and just.

I want to sincerely congratulate you,” the letter reads.

According to him, this does not meant that democracy does not need improvement in Armenia.
