This year, Georgia plans to deport at least four thousand illegal migrants. Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told ჟურნალისტs this, according to Georgia News.

According to him, the government will continue its principled migration policy. Kobakhidze noted that over the past 12 months, more illegal migrants have been deported from Georgia than in the previous 10 years.

"In about four years, the problem of illegal migration could be completely eradicated in the country, which is a very important task for Georgia," Kobakhidze said.

According to government estimates, by the end of last year there were about 20,000 illegal migrants in Georgia. According to the Interior Ministry, 2,203 illegal migrants have already been deported from Georgia this year, which is 70% more than the total number deported in 2025.
