On July 14, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received around 30 young people from various Diaspora dioceses at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, who had arrived for the launch of Armenian and religious studies courses.
Initiated for the second year with the blessing of the Catholicos of All Armenians, the courses aim to strengthen the youth's knowledge of the Armenian language and history, enrich their spiritual knowledge, and connect them with the spiritual-cultural heritage and national values of the homeland. Within the framework of the program, cultural events and pilgrimages to various holy sites in Armenia are also organized for the young Armenians.
The program is coordinated by Reverend Father Shnork Sargsyan, Deputy Director of the Church and Youth Training Program at the "Karekin I" Educational Center of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The nuns of Ghazaravan also provide valuable assistance with organizational matters.
In his speech, His Holiness expressed joy at the gathering of young Armenians from different countries at Holy Etchmiadzin and inquired about their daily lives and the progress of their studies.
The Supreme Patriarch emphasized that such educational programs are aimed at ensuring the Armenian upbringing and education of Diaspora youth, strengthening their national and spiritual identity, and further consolidating their bond with the Church and the homeland.
In conclusion, the Catholicos of All Armenians urged the young people to use the knowledge they have acquired to strengthen their communities worldwide and enhance national-church life.
