The US Department of the Treasury is stepping up efforts to disrupt and weaken Iran’s illicit trade and sanctions-evasion network.

"This action is part of the ongoing effort to increase economic pressure on the Iranian regime following its renewed destabilizing attacks in the Strait of Hormuz.

The sanctions target more than 50 individuals, entities, and vessels linked to Iran and helping it generate revenue," US authorities noted.
