US armed forces carried out another round of strikes on Iran overnight into Wednesday, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported.

"US Central Command has completed another round of strikes on Iran, hitting dozens of military targets on Iran's coast along the Strait of Hormuz," the statement said.

It notes that the strikes included Iranian missile bases and drone bases.

"During the seven-hour wave of strikes, US fighter jets, drones and Navy ships launched precision-guided munitions at Iranian missile and drone bases, naval forces and coastal defense systems to further degrade Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping and civilian crews," the command said.

At the same time, CENTCOM noted that this wave of strikes began on the same day that US forces resumed the naval blockade of Iranian ports.

The blockade went into effect on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

"US forces remain vigilant, combat-ready and prepared to conduct operations at the direction of the commander-in-chief," CENTCOM stressed.
