Tomorrow, during its upcoming session, the Government of Armenia is set to approve a legislative initiative to ratify the framework agreement on strategic cooperation with the United States regarding the "Trump Road" for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project. The agreement was signed in Washington on June 1, 2026, and in Yerevan on June 4, 2026.

According to the official draft decision of the Government:

"For the purpose of determining the compliance of the obligations enshrined in the international treaty with the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, an appeal will be submitted to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia.

Upon a ruling by the Constitutional Court confirming that the treaty's obligations comply with the Constitution, the Government's legislative initiative will be submitted to the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia in accordance with the established procedure.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vahan Kostanyan is appointed as the Government’s representative to the Constitutional Court, vested with all the rights reserved to a participating party under the Constitutional Law 'On the Constitutional Court'."
