America’s largest investor, multibillionaire Warren Buffett, said he no longer intends to make donations to the charitable foundation of Microsoft founder Bill Gates. The British newspaper Financial Times (FT) reported this on July 15.

The businessman removed the Gates Foundation from the list of recipients of his annual donations. As a result, Gates’ charitable foundation will lose $6 billion.

Buffett said that over the next eight years he plans to direct all of his funds to four family foundations. According to the publication, Gates’ organization was removed from the list of donation recipients after a series of revelations regarding Gates’ ties to the scandal-ridden financier Jeffrey Epstein.

The Wall Street Journal also reported on June 30 that 95-year-old Buffett had refused to cooperate with the Gates Foundation. It was noted that, for the first time in 20 years, the investor had canceled a regular contribution to the charitable foundation of Microsoft’s founder because Gates is mentioned in the Epstein scandal.

The Epstein files began to be published on December 20, 2025, after U.S. President Donald Trump signed a bill on November 19 of the same year authorizing their release. Former U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi published on February 14 a list of more than 300 well-known people mentioned in the files related to the financier’s case.
