US Vice President JD Vance said that Washington would not use ground forces "to change the regime in Iran," despite pressure from some conservative politicians.

"They just want the military campaign to continue indefinitely. And they really cannot define what exactly they are trying to achieve... Some of them want us to completely change the government in Iran."

"If the Iranian people want to rise up and change their government, that is their business. But we are not going to send 150,000 ground troops to bring about regime change unless the people on the ground themselves want it. We will not send troops under any circumstances," Vance added.

The US vice president noted that bombing Iran alone is not enough and that diplomacy is also necessary to resolve the conflict.
