For the first time, China exported more than 1 million cars in a single month, reports The Guardian.

In June, car exports from China exceeded 1 million units for the first time, while the total volume of overseas shipments from the world’s second-largest economy grew by 27%.

Official data from Chinese customs showed that stronger-than-expected trade figures could allow China to match or even surpass last year’s record trade surplus of $1 trillion, achieved despite the tariff war initiated by Donald Trump.

Sales of Chinese brands, from BYD to Jaecoo, are rising rapidly, taking market share from long-established brands, especially in Europe.
