At the moment, Tehran is not considering the possibility of resuming negotiations with Washington. This was stated on July 15 by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei.
“At this moment, we have no plans for talks; we are focused on defense,” the diplomat told reporters.
He emphasized that the country’s armed forces have repeatedly demonstrated their readiness to provide a proportionate response to any aggression. Baghaei also recalled that the memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Washington предполагает mutual obligations. According to him, Iran will not adhere to its part of the agreements if the other side does not fulfill its promises.
“If the other side violates them, we will also refrain from fulfilling our obligations,” the Foreign Ministry spokesperson added.
