The Armenian government plans to purchase high-performance computing resources from Firebird AI for $25 million. The corresponding decision was adopted at a meeting of the Armenian government on July 16.
The main goal of the investment program is to create in Armenia the most powerful data center in the region specializing in artificial intelligence solutions and high-performance computing. Its main activities will be data processing, provision of server space, and cloud infrastructure services.
The project will be implemented in Kotayk Province. The decision provides for the allocation of 957 million 876 thousand drams from state support funds for the purchase of high-performance computing resources, which will be made available to startups, research groups, universities, specialists, and government agencies working in the field of artificial intelligence.
By another decision of the Cabinet, Firebird AI has been exempted from paying customs duties amounting to 2.9 billion drams.
