Armenia has established a procedure for the registration and deregistration of economic operators in the Trade Control and Expert System (TRACES) — the European system used for exporting fish or fish products to EU countries. The corresponding decision was adopted at the government's July 16 session.
As a result of the decision, it will become possible to export frozen fish, processed fish, and fish products from Armenia to the EU. The decision is aimed at diversifying markets and increasing export volumes.
Since March 16, 2025, Armenia has had permission to export fish and fish products to EU countries. Under European Commission regulations, in order to carry out exports, economic operators must be registered in the TRACES system. Prior to the registration of the operators, the authorized state supervisory body in the given country must monitor the applications for compliance with European Union requirements.
