Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia in the first half of 2026 amounted to $1 billion 728.271 million, which is 31.4% less than in January-June of last year, Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee (SCC) reported.

Trade operations with Russia accounted for 7.01% of the country’s total foreign trade turnover (Russia is Azerbaijan’s fifth-largest foreign trade partner after Italy, the United Kingdom, Turkey, and China). In January-June 2025, Russia was Azerbaijan’s third-largest foreign trade partner with a 10.33% share.

In January-June 2026, exports of Azerbaijani products to Russia totaled $608.557 million (up 3%). Overall, shipments to Russia accounted for 3.73% of Azerbaijan’s exports. Russia ranks fourth among the countries to which Azerbaijani products are exported.

At the same time, by the end of the first half of the year, Russia is the second-largest buyer of Azerbaijani non-oil products (at the end of the first quarter of 2026, Russia was the largest buyer of Azerbaijan’s non-oil products - IF). Supplies to Russia during the reporting period amounted to $596.14 million (up 1.7%), with a share of 10.74%.

In the first half of the year, Azerbaijan imported goods worth $1 billion 119.714 million from Russia (down 42%); Russian supplies accounted for 13.42% of total imports. Russia is the third-largest source of imports to Azerbaijan (after China and Turkey).

Thus, according to the SCC, Azerbaijan’s negative balance in export-import relations with Russia in January-June 2026 amounted to about $511.157 million.

At the end of 2025, Azerbaijani-Russian trade turnover reached $4.92 billion, which is 2.5% more than in 2024.
