Today, during the daytime, a fire broke out on the grounds of the Imam Reza mausoleum, located in the Iranian city of Mashhad, where former Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei is buried. Tasnim News reports this.

According to the information received, the source of the fire originated in a bitumen workshop located within the complex grounds. Fire crews from the mausoleum, as well as brigades from the Mashhad city fire service, were promptly dispatched to the scene. The blaze was contained and extinguished in the shortest possible time.

Despite the dense smoke recorded on the complex grounds, the fire did not spread to other structures of the mausoleum. According to preliminary data, no one was injured as a result of the incident.
