A plane belonging to the Russian airline "Pobeda," which operates a scheduled flight on the Moscow-Gyumri route, performed several maneuvers in Armenian airspace before landing, reports Sputnik Armenia.

According to flight-tracking services, upon approaching the Gyumri airport, the aircraft changed its course toward Yerevan. It then circled within Armenian territory for some time, reaching almost to the border with Turkey, before redirecting back toward Gyumri. The aircraft briefly disappeared from radar screens before successfully landing at the airport.

"Pobeda" airlines clarified to Sputnik Armenia that the change in the flight path was caused by unfavorable weather conditions.

"Everything is fine. It was an ordinary operational situation. The meteorological conditions were simply not suitable for landing [on the first approach]," the airline stated.

As a reminder, "Pobeda" (a member of the Aeroflot Group) has been operating direct flights from Russia to Gyumri since 2016.
