American energy company TransAtlantic Petroleum has released the results of a study of oil and gas field reserves in the southeastern Turkish province of Diyarbakir.

As BR reports, citing the newspaper Türkiye, according to the conclusions of experts from the United States, production of black gold in this part of Anatolia could reach 250,000 barrels per day, while natural gas output could exceed 25 million cubic meters.

TransAtlantic Petroleum head Malone Mitchell said that, according to estimates, the above-mentioned production volume could remain stable over a long period.

“At least 25 wells can be drilled in Diyarbakir. Horizontal drilling will bear fruit. Diyarbakir’s reserves will help cover part of Turkey’s energy needs,” he is confident.

TransAtlantic Petroleum also considers Thrace in the country’s northwest to be another promising region of Turkey from a resource standpoint.
