Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said that during talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, the sides discussed the Azerbaijani-Armenian peace process. Bayramov made this statement at a joint press conference with Lavrov following bilateral talks in Moscow on Friday.

According to him, the recent historic developments that have taken place in the context of normalization between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including the initialing of the draft peace agreement, create a unique opportunity for the long-term establishment of peace, security and prosperity in our region.

"In the process of normalization between Armenia and Azerbaijan, it can be said with confidence that de facto peace exists today. The positive initiatives, the peace initiatives of the Azerbaijani side that we are implementing, including confidence-building measures, have seriously accelerated and made a major positive contribution to the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. We are convinced that the fulfillment of the remaining tasks of the peace process creates the necessary conditions for normalization," the Azerbaijani foreign minister stressed.
