The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has postponed the discussion on whether to strip Narek Karapetyan, a member of the Strong Armenia party council, of his parliamentary immunity.

Speaking to reporters after the CEC session, lawyer Aram Vardevanyan said that due to certain organizational issues, the discussion was postponed until tomorrow at 1:00 PM.

“We were at the stage where, following separate consultations, the CEC was expected to decide whether to grant or deny consent for initiating criminal prosecution.

We demanded that the motion be considered in an open session. This motion has no connection with reality, the law, or even logic. The motion concerns charges allegedly brought against Alik Aleksanyan,” Vardevanyan said.
