The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights recorded the deaths of at least 57 Palestinians, including six children, as a result of actions by the Israeli military between July 13 and 20.

“In recent days, the Israeli military has intensified its strikes on the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths and injuries of dozens of Palestinians,” said agency spokesperson Tamin Al-Kheetan.

“Nine months after the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip was announced, there is still not a single safe place for Palestinians,” she added, stressing that the deaths of civilians raise serious concerns about the possible commission of war crimes and other grave atrocities.

According to Al-Kheetan, among those killed during the period in question, “thirty-four people were killed far from the ‘yellow line’ established by Israel.”

She also noted that this line is constantly shifting, “creating a continuous threat to life, as the Israeli military appears to regularly open fire on Palestinians merely for being present near this area, which is a violation of international human rights law and international humanitarian law.”
