President Donald Trump said he is instructing his administration to allow all U.S. airlines to operate direct flights to Lebanon. The statement was made following his meeting at the White House with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.

“After meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, who has done an outstanding job transforming his country, I am instructing my administration to allow all American carriers to operate direct flights to Lebanon so Americans can easily visit this beautiful country,” Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social. “I hope other countries will follow suit.”

Earlier, before the start of the bilateral meeting, Trump said he intended to discuss with Aoun “specific plans” for U.S. assistance to Lebanon in pushing out the Hezbollah group.
