Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is preparing to bring a new model to market under the Range Rover brand — the all-electric GT crossover coupe, which will become the fifth vehicle in the lineup after the flagship model, Evoque, Velar, and Sport. The company positions the model as the most car-like Range Rover in its history. The manufacturer’s press office shared the first images of the vehicle on July 22.

In terms of design, the Range Rover GT combines features of a crossover and a classic grand tourer. The vehicle stands out with its lower ride height, elongated silhouette, and coupe-like profile, making it closer to sporty liftbacks and wagons than to traditional SUVs. Visually, the new model partly echoes the Range Rover Sport — in particular in the shape of the front end and the slim lighting units — but has more dynamic proportions.

The interior is done in a minimalist style with an emphasis on digital solutions. The cabin features a slim instrument panel, a large central display for the infotainment system, and a “floating” center console. The steering wheel has touch-sensitive controls with thick horizontal spokes. At launch, the GT will be available in a four-seat configuration, with a five-seat version to follow later.

At launch, the model will be offered exclusively with a fully electric powertrain, while a hybrid version is expected to appear later. The vehicle is based on the modular EMA platform.

According to Range Rover Managing Director Martin Limpert, the new model will “redefine the grand touring segment by offering a combination of expressive design, long-distance comfort, and capabilities unattainable for traditional vehicles of this class.”

The technical specifications of the Range Rover GT are expected to be revealed before the end of the year. The company has not yet specified the timing for the start of sales and deliveries.
