On July 21, Head of the Military Police of Armenia’s Ministry of Defense, Major General Ashot Zakaryan, received a delegation led by Major General Shalva Shengelia, Head of the Military Police Department of the Georgian Defense Forces, at the Military Police headquarters.

The Georgian delegation is in Armenia on a three-day visit aimed at exchanging experience and developing cooperation in the field of military police, the Ministry of Defense reported.

During the meeting, reaffirming the agreements reached in October of last year, the sides presented the structure, functions, and operational specifics of their respective units. They also discussed opportunities to expand cooperation, exchange experience, and strengthen partnership relations.

Following the meeting, members of the delegation toured the Military Police facilities. At the end of the visit, the heads of the two structures planted a fir tree together in the “Fir Grove” as a symbol of continued cooperation and friendship between the military police forces of Armenia and Georgia.
