The detention of Andranik Tevanyan, leader of the "Mother Armenia" party and second on the PAP (Prosperous Armenia Party) electoral list, has been extended by 2 months. This decision was made today by the Court of General Jurisdiction of First Instance of the Republic of Armenia.

As a reminder, Andranik Tevanyan is charged with high treason and espionage.

The opposition figure does not admit to the charges brought against him and characterizes the criminal prosecution as politically motivated. His defense lawyers state that the charges are not substantiated by sufficient evidence.
