The Kremlin has no information about an alleged meeting between representatives of Russia and Germany in Baku, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said, RIA Novosti reports.

“No, I do not have any information about this meeting, so I have nothing to tell you,” Peskov said in response to a question about whether the Kremlin had details of a meeting between representatives of Russia and Germany in Azerbaijan.

An unofficial meeting between former German officials and representatives of Russia in Baku has no practical significance for the peace process, for his part, said Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi, local media report.

He emphasized that the Ukrainian side had not authorized the participants in the meeting to represent its interests or conduct negotiations regarding the end of the war.

Earlier, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that representatives of Russia and Germany had been in Baku at the same time, and this gives grounds to say that a meeting between them took place.
