Authorities in some Israeli cities have begun deciding to open public shelters because of rising tensions in the region. The newspaper Israel Hayom reported this.

According to the report, the authorities of Ramat Gan, a major suburb of Tel Aviv, decided to open the doors of city shelters. Municipal shelters are also being opened in Eilat, located in the far south of the country on the shore of the Red Sea, Israel Hayom notes.

Eilat is located almost on the border with Jordan. In previous days, reports came from there about echoes of explosions heard after Iran's strikes on targets in the area of the Jordanian coastal city of Aqaba.

At the same time, the Israeli army has not yet issued any instructions for the public. Life in the country is proceeding as usual, and no restrictions have been introduced.
