YEREVAN. – Investigation of 174 reports received on election violations regarding the May 6 parliamentary elections is underway in the Police Service of Armenia, first deputy chief of Police Hunan Poghosyan told the journalists on Friday adding the violations mainly referred to election bribes, voting instead of other citizens, as well as hampering media access.

As a result of the analyses, 34 cases were rejected, while criminal cases are instigated on 122 cases and materials are being collected.

127 alarms were received in police on the Election Day, which mainly referred to violations, including errors in the voting lists and disturbance of the public order in precincts.

Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission has issued the preliminary results of parliamentary elections. Five parties and one political bloc will be represented in the 131-seat National Assembly (Parliament) of Armenia: Republican Party of Armenia – 44.05% (663,066 votes), Prosperous Armenia Party – 30.20% (454,684 votes), Armenian National Congress – 7.10% (106,910 votes), Heritage Party – 5.79% (87,095 votes), ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party – 5.73% (86, 296 votes), Orinats Yerkir Party – 5.49% (82,690 votes).
