Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, discussed regional and international developments in a telephone conversation, the Iranian Foreign Ministry reports.

Iran’s foreign minister criticized the irresponsible approach of European countries to regional developments.

“Because of its actions and comprehensive support for occupation and genocide, as well as its inadequate position regarding the American-Zionist military aggression against Iran, the European Union has no moral right to preach human rights,” Araghchi said.

Commenting on the extremely dangerous actions of the Ukrainian regime, which attacked an Iranian merchant vessel in the Caspian Sea, Iran’s foreign minister reminded the European Union representative of her responsibility as a supporter of the Ukrainian regime and warned of the unpredictable consequences of such adventurism for regional and international peace and security.

Kallas expressed concern about any expansion of conflict zones and emphasized the importance of continuing consultations between the European Union and Iran in order to prevent an escalation of tensions.
