The Bab el-Mandeb Strait is to some extent a transregional issue for us, and the existing problems in this area are rooted in long-standing disagreements and issues between Yemen, Saudi Arabia, and the countries of the region. This was reported by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

“In our view, this issue should be resolved within the framework of a unified regional agreement and through dialogue. We believe there is no military solution to the problems of Yemen, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, and other regional issues.

These matters must be resolved through dialogue: whether it is dialogue between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, internal dialogue within Yemen, or interaction between Yemen and other countries of the region.

Yemen is under blockade, and the actions taken by the Yemenis, in their own words, are aimed at breaking this blockade imposed by Saudi Arabia. Therefore, the root of Yemen’s problems cannot be attributed to Iran.

We believe that countries such as Iran, along with other countries of the region, can provide assistance in this direction. We have stated our readiness to play a constructive role, and our friends in Saudi Arabia are also aware of this. Iran can play a positive and constructive role in this process,” Araghchi noted.
