Iran held “useful discussions” with Oman on regulating navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said.

“During the talks between Iran and Oman, held on Friday and Saturday, useful discussions took place regarding the framework for regulating navigation in the Strait of Hormuz,” Baghaei said during a briefing.

He added that the exchange of views between Iran and Oman is ongoing.

At the same time, Baghaei noted that the talks with Oman have nothing to do with the dialogue with the United States.

On Sunday, Axios, citing sources in the region, reported that Iran and Oman had made progress during talks on navigation in Hormuz, but the situation in the strait remains unchanged: it is still closed.
