Former U.S. President Joe Biden is undergoing treatment for metastatic cancer and has become noticeably weakened, The Washington Post reports, citing sources close to Biden.

In October 2025, it became known that Biden had undergone a course of radiation and hormone therapy as part of treatment for prostate cancer.

"Eighteen months after leaving the White House, the 83-year-old former president is moving within a narrow circle of relatives, old friends, and longtime aides while undergoing treatment for metastatic cancer. The treatment appears to be working, but the disease and the effects of its treatment have left him noticeably weakened," the report says.

According to the newspaper, Biden’s inner circle describes his post-presidency life as constrained by illness, with his days increasingly centered on treatment, family, and efforts to shape his legacy.
