Georgia says it is losing Armenia’s car market

We have effectively lost the re-export markets. This was stated to BusinessPressNews by the head of the Georgian Association of Car Importers, Alexey Noniadze.

“Armenia mainly uses Georgia as a transit corridor — cars are transported directly from the ports of Batumi and Poti and imported into Armenia. In fact, we have lost this market as well,” he noted.

In January–June 2026, 38,759 cars were exported from Georgia, which is 21% less than in the previous year. Over the same period, imports fell by 12.3%, and 100,616 cars were brought into the country.
