No one will tell me whether to sell planes to Turkey or not. This was stated by U.S. President Donald Trump, responding to Prime Minister Netanyahu’s opposition to the deal with Turkey for the purchase of F-35 fighter jets.

At the same time, he noted that the positions of the United States and Israel regarding Iran are “quite close.”

“We are having good talks with Iran, and there is a strong possibility that something will happen,” Trump explained.

He said that he decided to pause the strikes on Friday because “the countries acting as mediators between the United States and Iran, as well as other countries in the Middle East, asked him to give them another chance for negotiations.”

“Everyone involved in the talks with Iran asked me, ‘Don’t shoot,’” Trump noted, emphasizing that, in his opinion, the Iranians want to reach an agreement.

“You gain nothing, you lose nothing,” the U.S. president explained, clarifying why he agreed to the mediators’ request. He said that since he paused the strikes, oil prices have fallen and stock markets have risen.
