Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei reacted to Ukraine’s recent attack on an Iranian vessel, which left several Iranian citizens dead and wounded, IRNA reports.
Baghaei stated that “all parties that in one way or another consider themselves supporters and patrons of the Ukrainian regime must undoubtedly bear responsibility for this.” “The behavior of the president of Ukraine essentially resembles the actions of anarchists who, on the eve of World War I, took demonstrative and extremely dangerous steps whose consequences affected all of Europe,” he noted.
Emphasizing that Iran is not interfering in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that “Ukraine’s actions are absolutely illegal, groundless, contrary to the UN Charter, and constitute a dangerous adventure that will certainly not go unanswered by Iran.”
“Zelensky’s senior patrons must undoubtedly restrain him and exercise caution, since the actions of the Ukrainian regime may have consequences for different regions of the world,” he warned.
