Chad announced plans to withdraw from the International Criminal Court at the recommendation of the United States. This was stated in a statement by the foreign ministry of the African country.

It is noted that the decision followed a “thorough analysis of the functioning of the International Criminal Court, as well as its effectiveness, which remains uneven across different regions.”

It is emphasized that the American side expressed concern about the functioning of this institution and called on Chad to reconsider its membership in the International Criminal Court.
