Omani negotiators are optimistic and hope to make a statement about progress in the next few days. At the same time, there is no guarantee this will happen, given the unstable situation.

One proposal is to open the so-called “middle corridor,” which is likely mined by Iran. A mine-clearing mission led by the United Kingdom and France can take place only when a favorable atmosphere is created and there is no threat of an Iranian attack.
