Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone call with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, during which the two leaders reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation. This was reported on July 28 by the Kremlin press service.

"A mutual commitment to further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation was reaffirmed," the statement published on the Kremlin's website said.

The leaders of the two countries also discussed in detail current issues on the bilateral and international agenda, specifically noting the constructive nature of Russian-Azerbaijani ties and the regular intensification of working contacts. During the conversation, the two sides emphasized the importance of expanding intergovernmental dialogue, which is currently developing actively through government channels, as well as through cooperation between key relevant ministries and agencies.
